The Kodak NAHEMI Student Commercial Awards is one of the UK’s longest-running platforms for emerging filmmakers, bringing together film schools, agencies and industry leaders to champion bold creative work. Held at the historic Regent Street Cinema, the competition challenges students to craft a 30 second commercial using a single roll of Kodak 16mm film while responding to live briefs from agencies including McCann, TBWA and Libertine. It is regarded as a launchpad for new talent and a celebration of film craft at a time when analogue storytelling continues to define award-winning cinema.I starred as Eros in Eros, the Myth Buster, the commercial that won First Place overall and First Place for the Brook brief. Alongside leading the performance, I supported script editing, shaping the rhythm, humour and clarity of the story. The judging panel described our film as “a standout with original storytelling and a bold, funny approach” and praised the writing for feeling “more like an entertaining story than an ad.” The project allowed me to combine acting, story development and creative problem solving under tight constraints, strengthening my voice as a filmmaker and demonstrating my ability to deliver culturally resonant, audience-first work.
