Emerge East

Emerge East is a free annual festival celebrating local creativity, community, and nature. I co-hosted the Barking Riverside Block Party stage with Robert Bruce from Capital Xtra, in collaboration with One Room. Using live event curation, stage design, and collaborative programming, we showcased local performers, emerging DJs, and community makers. The festival attracted thousands of visitors, strengthened local creative networks, and fostered a shared sense of ownership in the neighbourhood. The festival continues to grow year on year, becoming a defining cultural highlight for Barking Riverside and demonstrating how immersive, community-led social design can transform placemaking and identity in urban developments.
